Frequently asked questions

What is CPR and why is it important?

CPR is a life-saving technique used in emergencies where someone's heart has stopped. It's crucial because it allows the person's heart to manually be pumped by pushing on the chest until help arrives, which can double or triple the person's chances of survival after cardiac arrest.

Who should learn CPR and first aid?

Everyone can benefit from learning CPR and first aid, from healthcare professionals to parents, teachers, and community members. These skills are essential for anyone who wants to be prepared to respond in emergencies.

Will I receive a certification card after passing a class?

Yes! All of our classes are taught by licensed American Red Cross instructors, and students will receive an official, nationally-recognized certification card in their email inbox shortly after passing the class.

How often should I renew my CPR certification?

CPR certification should be renewed every two years to ensure that your skills and knowledge are up-to-date with the latest guidelines and techniques.

How long are classes?

First Aid/CPR/AED and Basic Life Support classes typically include 2½ hours of convenient, self-paced, online training and 2½ hours of in-person skills training in the classroom. Bleeding control classes last 1½ hours and are taught in-person in the classroom.

The instructors at Lifesaver are incredibly knowledgeable and truly passionate about teaching. You will leave class feeling confident and prepared to handle emergency situations.
